Kelly Counts, M.A. IMF 82796

I am a counselor who is passionate about empowering individuals to overcome obstacles in their lives.  I became a therapist to help people navigate their complex worlds in order to live a healthier, happier life.  I hold a Christian worldview and integrate clinically tested and empirically proven approaches into the work being done with each client.  I am also trained in EMDR and provide a safe place to heal with a nurturing relationship.

I have completed my Bachelors of Art in Psychology from National University and my Masters of Art in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University.  My training and experience include working with alcohol and substance abuse, sexual abuse victims, human trafficking, victims of trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, body image, self-esteem and marriage and family issues.  Additionally, I am a veteran of 8 years and am culturally competent in military families, deployments and combat PTSD.  I serve at Family Focus Christian Counseling as a Marriage & Family Therapist Registered Intern (IMF 82796) under the supervision of John Southward, M.A. LMFT 47976.

I look forward to being able to help you or your family. You can call (619) 440-4211 or email me at info@familyfocuscounseling.org for more information or to make an appointment.
